Egypt Desert Trek Itinerary
Overview
A 7-day camel-supported hike through the remote Western Desert, crossing from Baharya to Farafara via the White Desert. Daily hikes of 20–30km with a full desert experience: silence, camels, Bedouin food, and lunar landscapes.
Day 1 – Cairo to Baharyia & Crystal Mountain
· Depart Cairo (10:00) → Baharyia Oasis (400km)
· Lunch & rest at Al Haiz Oasis Eco-Lodge
· Meet camels & crew at Crystal Mountain
· Overnight: Base Camp 1
Days 2–5 – The Deep Desert Trek
· Daily routine: 5:00 wake → 7:00 hike → midday rest & lunch → 18:30 night camp
· Route highlights: Aqabat, Ain El Sareo (Magic Spring), Wady Hinnis
· Overnight: Wild desert camps
Day 6 – Final Hike & Oasis Refresh
· Last 10km to the asphalt road
· Farewell to camels & crew
· Hot spring soak at the oasis
· Overnight: Al Haiz Oasis Desert Eco Lodge + Bedouin dinner & music
Day 7 – AlHaiz Oasis & Return
· Leisurely breakfast & oasis tour
· Tea on the dunes overlooking ruins
