Joanne, a full-time chef of 30 years, from Toronto Canada. She has been living in Egypt for over 5 years in Dahab (Sinai) & Baharyia Oasis, in the Western Desert. She brings extensive knowledge in hospitality, logistics, communications and leadership.
She manages bookings at the eco lodge, arranges desert safaris, builds complete itineraries from 2 days to 30 including all parts of Egypt.
Immersed into the Bedouin culture of the northern Oasis, she has travelled all over Egypt, and understands travel timing, checkpoint information, desert permissions and will facilitate a custom designed itinerary for your Egyptian vacation. Kosa ‘Kabir’: Expert Bedouin Guide & 4×4 driver
Kosa “the BIG” has spent a lifetime traversing the Western-Libyan Desert. He conducts regular exercises with the Egyptian Military teaching the young cadets how to drive, read GPS, manage mechanical issues and more in the desert. We are honored to have the inspiring and fun-loving Kosa on our team. Fun fact: he prefers green tea over the traditional Bedouin “red” tea.
Ibrahim Badry: Large event Bedouin chef & desert safari driver
A generational resident and organic farmer in Al Haiz Village, expert knowledge of the desert and how to satisfy our guests with is delicious, traditional cooking style.
Rageb Abu Ala: 4×4 driver, mechanic
An absolute pillar of good will and expertise, Rageb plays an integral part of our team as a lead driver and main mechanic of our fleet of seven Toyota Landcruisers. No deep-desert excursion takes place without him in the line-up.
Khaled & Waheed: Bedouin chefs, desert safari team players
Both are family, and long time team members. They take care of all the meals, camp set-up, tea service. Waheed is a great drummer, and if the Bedouin music moves you, Khaled is your dance partner.
