GREAT NEWS! Canadians can once again obtain a single-entry visa upon entry to Cairo Or Sharm el Sheik International Airports, or get an e-visa pre-travel (3-7 business days). You will require a valid passport (at least 6 months beyond travel exit date), address of the hotel, guardian’s information, proof of travel, and visa fee of $100 USD, CASH ONLY (no ripped, broken or pre-dates 2008 bills will be accepted). Please print your e-visa, and keep an electronic copy on your phone, laptop or tablet.
Please be advised at this time, Canadians have been denied entry because their passport bore an Isreali border stamp.

As of October 1st, 2023, travel requirements to Egypt for Canadians has changed. Due to some ill advised international relations, Canada made it more difficult for Egyptians to travel to Canada. This prompted Egypt to change their requirements for Canadians. The application to obtain an e-visa website has been removed, they no longer answer emails or telephone at the consulate.
But there are 2 options in obtaining an Egyptian travel visa. Canada has 2 available consulates to process requests:
OTTAWA: 454 Laurier Avenue, East Ottawa, Ontario K1N6R3
MONTREAL: 1 Place Ville Marie, # 2617 , QUE H3B 4S3
Process:
- Fully completed and signed visa application form with ONE photo stapled to the form and ONE copy of the completed application form with photo
- ONE 2″ x 2″, recent high definition personal passport photo on white background (the photo must be no more than 6 months old)
- Actual Passport plus TWO copies of the information page (still valid for at least 6 months) and has an empty Visa page
- TWO copies of School registration for Student Visa Holders ONLY
- TWO photocopies of round-trip ticket or confirmed itinerary
Fees: If applying by Mail, all payments are in Cashier’s Check Only payable to the Consulate of Egypt. ( They DO NOT accept MONEY ORDER or PERSONAL CHECKS)
If applying in person: of $150 CAD cash is accepted. Please allow yourself as least 4 weeks turn around time.
If you are able to travel to Ottawa or Montreal, the process is the same for drop off. Please allow a minimum 2 weeks to process the visa.
Hours of operation: at the consulate for in-person drop off are as follows: 10AM-12PM to drop off package (you can pay cash only for in-person) and for pick-up hours are 2PM-4PM only.
Multy-entry visas: are the same steps but the fee is $200 CAD, is vaild for 90 days. Please remember you MUST leave passport with them for processing.
American & European Passport Holders: E-visas are available on-line for $25 USD or you can obtain a visa upon arrival at Cairo International Airport or Sharm el Sheik Airport.
