Our 4-day Valley of the Whales tour will start and ends in Cairo.
With this tour you will discover a yet more impressive meaning of ancient Egypt. This tour’s highlights are the sights of Fayoum Oasis—the Lake Quran, the Wadi al Rayan Protected ares, and the Wadi-al-Hitan (Valley of the Whales UNESCO World Heritage Site, – the Natural fresh water springs of Al Haiz Oasis, the beautiful Agabat Valley, and the spectacular White Desert National Park.
Day 1
After meeting in Cairo, we will be leaving Egypt’s capital heading south towards Fayoum Oasis. We first visit the Lake Qarun Protected Areaand the waterfalls of Wadi al-Rayan Protected Area. Tour around Tunis Village and visit some local pottery makers & shops. Take lunch in Fayoum. In the evening we head out to the dunes where we spend the night under the stars near Magic Lake.
Day 2
On our second day, we visit the Wadi al-Hitan (Valley of the Whales) UNESCO World Heritage Site, which was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2005 for its hundreds of fossils of the earliest—and now extinct—suborder of whales, the archaeoceti. No other place in the world yields the number, concentration, and quality of such fossils.
In the late afternoon we drive to our Eco Lodge, in Al Haiz Oasis. Settle into tents, and enjoy the a traditional organic BBQ dinner in the Bedouin tent. Early mornings are peaceful long the working date orchard and farm. Breakfast at 8AM, a tour of the farm, swim in the Natural Spring pool, then we head south.
Day 3
The highlights of the third day are the famous the Black Desert,and the sparkling Crystal Mountain. In the evening, we head to the beautiful Agabat Valley. Late afternoon we will leave to our camp in the even more spectacularWhite Desert National Park. Not without good reason the White Desert National Park is honored as a “lonely Planet Top Choice” This spectacular place with its blindingly white sculptures nature has been shaping for hundreds and thousands of years, looks like it is on another planet.Have our Bedouin dinner, campfires, music & storytelling under the stars.
Day 4
After a night under the open sky, breakfast will be ready at about 8:00 am and the early birds will enjoy the sunrise in this spectacular place. Later that day, we pass great sand dunes where you might want to try sandboarding before returning to Baharya Oasis. We arrive in Bahariya Oasis and take a rest stop, lunch and shop the local dates & oil market before you take your transportation back to Cairo, arrival at about 8:00 pm.
